The auctioneer explains

Roel Goedhart is BVA auctioneer and explains why the sneakers are so valuable, "in recent years we see the collecting hype blowing over from Japan and America where collecting exclusive sneakers has been a trend for years. I expect a strong upward market movement in the coming years regarding the value of these types of exclusive sneakers. In auctions of art and exclusive fashion items, besides the limited availability and the economic law of supply and demand, there is also a lot of emotion involved. And emotion drives up prices. The increased popularity of these exclusive sneakers make them a good and value purchase at the moment. Whether it is also a good investment? That just depends on when you sell again. Says Goedhart, auctioneer

Rotterdam innovation hub: Cambridge Innovation Centre (CIC)

Typically, CIC together with non-profit sister organization Venture Café - brings together Rotterdam's innovation community. In recent years, a total of about 50,000 visitors attended the combined events. Now CIC is not hosting people but precious exclusive sneakers. 'Creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation are core values of CIC. These values come together in the special collection of Nike sneakers. So we did not hesitate for a moment when we were asked to host the viewing day. Normally we have mostly innovative entrepreneurs on the floor. On Friday we will be delighted to welcome fashionistas, collectors, lifestyle journalists and other interested parties.' Says Joyce Kornet-Vreugdenhil, General Manager CIC Rotterdam
